AMERICAN COCKROACHES – PERIPLANETA AMERICANA

Most commonly found cockroach species in Bahrain. The size of the adult is 4 cm. It lives inside the drainage system and commonly found in drain manholes. When it is too warm or overpopulated in the manhole they come out of the floor drains, bathtub drains, washing machine, dishwasher, toilet etc wherever drain pipes are present. Its presence is a big nuisance and it carries diseases from the drains They are active at night, in the house during day time can remain unnoticed.

 

GERMAN COCKROACHES – BLATTELLA GERMANICA

German cockroaches are 1-2 cm long. They are feeding on most of the materials that human also consume thus it is the most common pest of the kitchens. If food is available it can reproduce very fast. From a single egg case 40 small cockroaches hatch. One adult can produce 20 000 offspring annually. It can be easily distributed on equipment, in machines but even on clothes. They are hiding in various crevices and voids, Professional survey is needed to identify all their harbourage.
